Angry Palestinian young men on Saturday evening threw Molotov cocktails at Israeli police officers and a vehicle for settlers’ guards in Ein al-Luze neighborhood of Silwan district south of the Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem.
Tension is still running high in Silwan district due to the Israeli police and settlers’ guards repeated raids on its neighborhoods and provocative acts against its local residents.
Last Thursday about 300 extremist settlers along with senior right-wing officials including agriculture minister Uri Ariel MK Moti Yogev (Jewish Home) and members of the Israeli municipality in Jerusalem marched in Silwan as they were carrying Torah scrolls into a seized Palestinian home which was turned into a synagogue.
The Israeli municipality also renewed its threats recently to demolish several Palestinian homes in Silwan in order to build a religious park for Jewish settlers.
