Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas on Monday condemned the Israeli decision to close al-Jazeera office and block its work in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Hamas’s spokesman Hazem Kasem said in a press statement that this move attempts to conceal “the Israeli violations practiced against Palestinians”.
Kasem pointed out that al-Jazeera played a great role in exposing the crimes committed during the Israeli wars on Gaza and covering the latest Israeli escalation targeting al-Aqsa Mosque which Israel did not like as he put it.
The Israeli government on Sunday announced closing al-Jazeera office in Occupied Jerusalem and revoking press credentials of its journalists following Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s call for the office to be shut down.
Israeli communications minister Ayoub Kara in a press conference asked satellite broadcasters to block transmission of the Qatar-based TV network.
