The Islamic Movement in the 1948 occupied Palestinian territories held on Sunday the Israeli government responsible for the deteriorating security situation in the region.
The Movement said in a statement on Sunday that preventing Palestinian worshipers from entering al-Aqsa Mosque or even approaching its gates constitutes a flagrant violation of Muslims’ right to the freedom of worship.
The Movement denounced the arbitrary arrest and deportation campaigns waged lately against Palestinian activists.
It appealed to Jordan the exclusive sponsor of the Islamic Awqaf at al-Aqsa Mosque to intervene urgently to put an end to the Israeli aggression on the Mosque and the Jerusalemite worshipers.
It praised the role the Jerusalemite worshipers and clerics are playing in defending the holy site calling on Palestinians in the 1948 occupied territories to intensify their presence at al-Aqsa Mosque and give donations to Jerusalem’s hospitals.
