Spokesman of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas Fawzi Barhoum said on Tuesday that the latest decision by the Palestinian Authority (PA) president Mahmoud Abbas forcing PA employees in Gaza into early retirement is “immoral and inhumane”.
Barhoum affirmed in a press statement that Abbas’s measures against Gaza are aimed at entrenching the internal division to prepare the atmosphere for liquidating the Palestinian cause in accordance with a US-Israeli project.
He demanded Abbas to immediately reverse all these “arbitrary” measures which he described as “crimes against humanity”.
Earlier in the day the PA government in Ramallah issued early retirement orders against 6145 PA employees working in the Gaza Strip.
Spokesman of the PA government Yousuf al-Mahmoud said that all these measures are temporary and depend on Hamas’s efforts to bridge the Palestinian rift which clearly and officially indicate that these measures come within a collective punishment policy pursued by the PA in Ramallah against Gaza.
