An official delegation from Fatah Movement and the Palestinian Authority (PA) will participate in Israel’s 17th Herzliya Conference which will kick off on Tuesday evening at a time when the PA continues its punitive measures against the Gaza Strip and the Palestinian released prisoners.
Senior officials from Fatah and the PA will speak at the Conference including Nabil Shaath Advisor of the PA president Mahmoud Abbas on Foreign Affairs and Fatah Commissioner of International Relations and Elias Zananiri Chairman of the PA Committee for Interaction with the Israeli Society.
A closed session will be held on water security in the region with the participation of the Palestinian official Nedaa Jadlani alongside the head of the Jordan Valley Water Authority in Jordan Saad al-Hamar.
The Conference will include sessions addressing the “growing Iranian threat” and the Palestinian issue in addition to traditional discussions in which representatives of Israeli parties will table their points of view regarding Israel’s future and the two-state solution.
A special session will be devoted for the US role in future Palestinian-Israeli negotiations in which the former US envoy Dennis Ross will be present.
As usual in Herzliya Conference both Chief of the Israeli Military Intelligence Directorate Herzi Halevi and Commander of the Israeli Air Force will speak at the conference. A special speech will be delivered by the Israeli war minister Avigdor Lieberman on Wednesday.
