Member of Hamas’s political bureau Salah al-Bardawil said that Palestinian Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas was the one who torpedoed the Qatari initiative for the inter-Palestinian reconciliation affirming that Hamas agreed to it.
During his meeting on Tuesday with political analysts and writers in Gaza Bardawil stated that Abbas’s measures against Gaza are aimed at imposing political pressures.
He expressed his dismay at the language used by Abbas towards Gaza and his claim that Hamas did not accept the Qatari reconciliation initiative calling for referring to the Qatari sponsor to know who refused or accepted the initiative.
The Hamas official stressed that his Movement would never surrender to any pressure against Gaza and would put an end to the state of carelessness towards the Palestinian rights expressing his belief that the Palestinian people would foil all conspiracies against their national cause.
As for Abbas’s planned visit to Washington Bardawil said that the visit would be frivolous because US president Donald Trump is busy with international issues other than the Palestinian cause.
“The Palestinian cause has become at the tail end of the international arena and Trump seems to have no integrated and clear vision to solve the Palestinian question except that he would call on some Arab countries the occupation state and the Palestinian presidency to participate in a regional conference” he underlined.
