The Palestinian resistance will do whatever it takes to free the Palestinian detainees from Israeli jails members of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) in Gaza vowed on Monday morning.
Speaking on the Palestinian Prisoner Day Palestinian MPs said: “Freedom is just round the corner” and the Israeli occupation cannot but abide by the terms set by the Palestinian resistance.
“We shall never have a moment of rest until our detainees breathe the air of freedom” PLC First Deputy Speaker Ahmed Bahar pledged.
Political bureau member of Hamas Khalil al-Hayya also said the Israeli occupation has no other option but to surrender to the conditions set by the Palestinian resistance.
Al-Hayya called for mobilizing mass support for the prisoners cause and urged all national factions to speak up against the security coordination between the Israeli occupation and the Palestinian Authority (PA) chaired by Mahmoud Abbas.
“In light of the apathy maintained by the PA organs nationwide and overseas we call on all popular institutions at home and across the globe including the Palestinians in Europe Conference to speak up for the prisoners’ cause at international forums” said al-Hayya.
Hamas MP Mahmoud al-Zahhar also stressed the need to form a follow-up committee so as to keep tabs on the prisoners’ cause in Gaza the West Bank and Occupied Jerusalem.
He added that the projected prisoner swap deal will be struck beyond all partisan considerations and interests.
For his part MP Faraj al-Ghoul slammed the PA forces for handing over settlers to the Israeli occupation authorities at the same time as they continue to crack down on the Palestinian anti-occupation activists and to turn their back on the prisoners’ cause.
Addressing the attendants undersecretary of the Prisoners’ Ministry Bahaa al-Deen al-Madhoun sounded the alarm over the psycho-physical violations perpetrated by the Israeli authorities against Palestinian detainees.
“The Israeli occupation tortures the living just as it does the dead” said al-Madhoun referring to Israel’s interment of the bodies of slain Palestinians in the so-called “Numbers Cemetery.”
“Our detainees are the very artery of our beating heart” added al-Madhoun urging the Arab parliaments to step up pressure on the Israeli occupation so as to halt all sorts of violations against the Palestinian detainees. He also called on the United Nations to appoint an international committee to investigate such Israeli crimes.
Over 1500 Palestinian detainees in Israeli jails started an open-ended hunger strike on Monday which marks the Palestinian Prisoner Day.
