Hundreds of Palestinian citizens rallied and performed the Friday prayer in al-Shuhada Square in Nablus city to express their solidarity with the Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.
In his khutba (sermon) Sheikh Ahmed Shubash focused on the importance of standing by the prisoners until their liberation from Israeli jails describing their support as a religious duty.
Following the prayer Imad-Addin Ishtaiwi coordinator of the national committee for the support of prisoners in Nablus stated that the Palestinian prisoners intend to stage a mass hunger strike in protest at their exposure to Israeli repressive measures.
Ishtaiwi called for actively participating in activities to be held soon in different Palestinian cities and towns in solidarity with the prisoners.
