Tension flares as Israeli settlers close off road to southern Nablus

Thursday 6-April-2017

A state of tension flared up after Israeli settlers at noontime Thursday closed off one of the main access roads to southern Nablus blocking Palestinians access out of and into the area.

According to eye-witnesses the settlers closed a thoroughfare leading to Palestinian towns and villages near Yitzhar illegal settlement outpost.

The move was carried out in the presence of heavily-armed Israeli soldiers.

The settlers lifted banners calling for killing Arabs and for revenge against the Palestinians.

A few hours earlier a Palestinian youth rammed his car into a group of Israeli soldiers in eastern Ramallah leaving one dead and another one injured in an attack believed to be carried out in response to Israel’s simmering terrorism across the occupied Palestinian territories and at al-Aqsa Mosque.
