Mousa Abu Marzouk member of the Hamas political bureau said on Wednesday that many countries contacted Hamas Movement about the recently captured Israeli soldiers.
In press statements Abu Marzouk said that Hamas will not start talking with any mediator about the captured soldiers until Israel shows respect to the prisoner exchange deal of 2011.
Regarding the outcomes of Hamas’s latest visit to Egypt Abu Marzouk stated that the delegation had reviewed issues of common concern with Egyptian officials including the Palestinian national reconciliation the regional and international political situation the US policy toward the Palestinian cause Rafah crossing and the Egyptian supplies to the Gaza Strip including electricity.
Abu Marzouk renewed Hamas’s affirmation that it will never interfere in Egypt’s internal affairs adding that the Gaza Strip will not bring any threat to Egypt and that Hamas has one enemy which is the Israeli occupation.
He emphasized that his Movement supports forming a national unity government overseeing the West Bank and the Gaza Strip and considers this an essential move to hold elections on all levels (National Council presidency Legislative Council local elections).
