Hamas hackers continue to trick Israeli soldiers into revealing sensitive military data via fake accounts created on social media networks the Israeli Channel 2 reported Thursday evening.
Hebrew-speaking Channel 2 quoted the head of Israel’s investigation department as stating that Hamas hackers used six fake accounts to entrap a number of soldiers and obtain access to private data.
The operation comes a couple of weeks after Hamas hackers retrieved data from Israeli soldiers’ smart phones via 16 fake Facebook accounts.
The Israeli officer said efforts have been in full swing to chase down the Hamas network.
A couple of weeks ago Hamas operatives tricked Israeli soldiers into disclosing secret military data including pictures text messages and telephone conversations.
As a precautionary measure the Israeli occupation army slapped restrictions on the use of social media by Israeli soldiers mainly high-ranking military staff.
