A number of Islamic and national Palestinian factions warned on Saturday that moving the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to occupied Jerusalem will ignite the region.
The factions said in a statement issued after a meeting held in Ramallah city that moving the US Embassy to Jerusalem which is an occupied city according to the international law is a declaration of war against the Palestinian people. The statement pointed out that the US administration’s intentions reflect a biased position and called for adopting practical measure once the decision is implemented.
According to the statement moving the embassy to Jerusalem will give legitimacy to the Israeli annexation and Judaization operations there and will exclude the city from any future negotiations and impose a unilateral solution on its status.
The Palestinian factions considered Donald Trump’s inauguration as president of the United States an American internal affair noting that the Palestinian people’s position on the new US administration is determined by its policy toward their national rights.
On the local level the Palestinian powers stressed the importance of achieving a national reconciliation to confront with full force the Israeli settlement activities and demolition of Palestinian houses which come within ethnic cleansing campaigns aimed at eliminating the Palestinian identity.
They confirmed the unity of the Palestinian blood in the Negev Galilee and Triangle in the face of the policies aiming to uproot Palestinians from their land.
