Friday 2-November-2018

The Movement of Hamas and Islamic Jihad have called on the Palestinian Authority (PA) leadership to lift its sanctions on the Gaza Strip and refrain from taking further steps that would increase the suffering of the population and deepen the rift in the Palestinian arena.

This came in a joint statement released on Thursday following a meeting between leaders from the two Movements in the office of Hamas political chief Ismail Haneyya.

The statement confirmed the depth of the relations between the two sides and their keenness on maintaining mutual cooperation in all fields especially at the political and military levels.

The two sides highlighted the importance of protecting the resistance program and improving the joint operations rooms that was formed by the armed wings of the factions in Gaza.

They also stressed the need for continuing to stage the March of Return rallies and ensuring their popularity and peacefulness until all intended goals are achieved.

Their statement valued the efforts being made by Egypt Qatar and the UN to alleviate the Gaza population’s suffering and end the blockade imposed on them.
