Palestinian paramedic killed by Israeli gunfire at Gaza border

Friday 1-June-2018

A Palestinian paramedic was killed and more than 100 protesters were left injured on Friday as Israeli forces continued to attack the ongoing Great March of Return protests at the eastern border of the blockaded Gaza Strip.

Razan Ashraf Najjar a 21-year-old paramedic was shot and killed by Israeli snipers at the border fence east of Khan Younes in southern Gaza Strip while she was treating the wounded of the Israeli shooting at the unarmed protesters.

More than 100 protesters were also injured by Israeli fire including 40 by live gunfire.

Several wounded protesters were rushed to local hospitals for urgent treatment.

Right before evening prayers the occupation army targeted the protesters with randomly-fired spates of teargas canisters east of Gaza City resulting in dozens of suffocation cases.

At the same time thousands of protesters flocked to the “return camps” set up along Gaza’s eastern borders to take part in the so-called “From Gaza to Haifa” march.

Over 120 Palestinians have been killed since the launch of the Great March of Return protests at Gaza-Israel border on March 30. Nearly 13000 others have been left injured.
