Dozens of Tunisian journalists participated in a sit-in held on Friday in Tunis to express their solidarity with the Palestinian journalists in Gaza and condemn Israel’s crimes against them.
In a speech a spokesperson for the National Union of Tunisian Journalists called for retribution for Israel’s killing of journalist Yasser Murtaja as he was covering protests on April 6 in Gaza.
The spokesperson called for holding Israeli leaders legally accountable at international courts for giving soldiers permission to kill protesters and journalists.
Meanwhile Tunisian national figures and officials on Friday rallied in Tajerouine town northwest of Tunisia to commemorate the Palestinian Land Day and express support for the Palestinian people’s right to resist the Israeli occupation.
