The Israeli army claimed responsibility for the murder of the Palestinian anti-occupation attacker Ahmed Jarrar during a military operation in Jenin.
In Tuesday reports Israeli sources claimed Ahmed Jarrar was killed overnight after Israeli military troops rolled into Yamon town and that the victim was holding a bag and an M16 weapon before he was fatally shot.
The Israeli army spokesman said Ahmed Jarrar whom he identified as “a terrorist” in reference to his anti-occupation activism had been chased down over his involvement in an anti-occupation shooting in Nablus last month.
Jarrar’s body was removed from beneath a building which was partly demolished by the Israeli occupation forces.
Jarrar’s family mourned their son’s death and said he was killed following a shootout with the Israeli military.
The Israeli intelligence service Shin Bet said they were notified about Jarrar’s presence in a building in Jenin at the early morning hours before they rolled into the area and cordoned off the building.
Israeli special troops said Jarrar was spotted in the building while he carried out a large bag. The military opened fire for fear that Ahmed Jarrar would target them with his weapon.
Jarrar’s bag was allegedly loaded with ammunition and explosives which the occupation army claimed was a sign that Ahmed was gearing up for an armed confrontation.
A Koran book offered to Ahmed by his mother was also spotted inside his bag.
In live snapshots taken from the death scene Ahmed’s body appears to be covered in blood from head to toe which eye-witnesses said is a sign of the atrocity of the crime committed by the occupation army.
