Al-Quds Committee of the Popular Conference of Palestinians Abroad has warned of Israeli repeated attempts to impose Israeli sovereignty over al-Aqsa Mosque in order to pave the way for a bigger Judaization project that could lead to the division or demolition of the holy site.
In a statement on Thursday Head of the Committee Naela al-Waeri warned of the seriousness of the Israeli police banning Palestinians from renovating al-Aqsa Mosque including all of its facilities on Tuesday .
She pointed out that the Israeli move came after suspending 40 of the renovation projects at al-Aqsa Mosque.
Waeri called on Jordan and UNESCO as well as other cultural organizations to pressure Israeli authorities to halt the repeated offensives against sacred places in Occupied Jerusalem.
