Jailed PFLP leader Saadat lauds Hamas flexibility

Sunday 7-January-2018

Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) on Sunday appealed to Hamas Movement to increase its efforts in favor of national reconciliation.

In a letter sent to Hamas leader Husam Badra Saadat held behind Israeli prison bars called on Hamas to consider taking part in the projected meeting by the Palestinian Central Council likely to be held overseas.

Saadat expressed his commitment to exert every possible effort to boost Hamas’s “sincere steps” in favor of national reconciliation.

Saadat hailed Hamas on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of its founding lauding the group’s “flexibility in handling the reconciliation file.”

“Unity and resistance are one and the same” Saadat’s letter read.

The PFLP leader stressed his group’s commitment to unity vowing to make serious steps to prop up Palestinians’ anti-occupation struggle and lift sanctions on the blockaded Gaza Strip.

Saadat’s comments came in response to a letter sent by Badran in which the latter congratulated the former on the 50th anniversary of the PFLP’s founding.

In the letter Badran acclaimed PFLP’s constructive stance vis-à-vis national reconciliation vowing to leave no stone unturned to make unity come true.
