The Hamas Movement has categorically denied there is a new truce agreement or a comprehensive settlement with Israel whether in the Gaza Strip or the West Bank.
Hamas spokesman Abdul-Latif al-Qanu told Anadolu news agency that there are efforts to solidify previous understandings related to lifting the blockade on Gaza and nothing more.
He also described Israeli media reports on ignoring the West Bank during the previous and recent understandings over ending the Gaza siege as “unfounded and untrue.”
The Israeli satellite channel Kan claimed on Sunday that Hamas refuses to stop its operations in the West Bank as part of a settlement with the Israeli government adding that the truce between Israel and Hamas was only related to Gaza.
Senior Hamas official Khalil al-Hayya had already affirmed that there were only mediated understandings aimed at lifting the blockade on Gaza and not political talks with the occupation state.
