Palestinian communities in South America to hold first conference

Friday 14-June-2019

Different Palestinian communities in South America intend to hold their first conference on Friday and Saturday in Salvador with the participation of delegations from over 10 countries.

Sam’aan Khoury head of the Salvadoran Palestinian Friendship Association stated in press remarks that the conference of the Palestinian communities in South America and the Caribbean is aimed to support the Palestinian cause.

“We are seeking to bring together the largest number of Palestinians and their communities in Latin America and the Caribbean in light of the monopoly over the administration of the Palestinian communities by the department of expatriates at the Liberation Organization (PLO)” Khoury said.

He affirmed that the conference would form a new nucleus for the Palestinians in Latin America and the Caribbean.

He called for backing this conference and pooling the efforts to serve the Palestinian cause at such difficult moments and confront the US deal of the century and the Bahrain economic workshop which he said they target the Palestinian people’s right to return and establish their state.
