The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas on Monday condemned the Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro’s visit to Israel.
Hamas said in an official statement that the visit does not only contradict the Brazilian people’s long history of supporting the Palestinian struggle against the occupation but it also violates all international norms as it serves as a recognition of Israel.
Hamas particularly denounced Bolsonaro’s visit to the holy city of Jerusalem and the Buraq Wall accompanied by Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and decried his announced plan for setting up a trade office for Brazil in Occupied Jerusalem.
Hamas called on Brazil to backtrack on its policy which does not serve the stability and security of the region and threatens the Brazilian ties with Arab and Muslim nations.
