Dozens suffer tear gas suffocation in Land Day protests

Saturday 30-March-2019

Dozens of Palestinians choked on tear gas fired by the Israeli occupation forces on Saturday during West Bank demonstrations marking the Palestinian Land Day.

Hundreds holding Palestinian flags marched in different areas in the West Bank to commemorate the Land Day and voice support for the Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.

Local sources said that violent confrontations broke out in Nablus Ramallah and al-Bireh where dozens of suffocation cases were reported among Palestinian demonstrators and journalists covering the protests.

Eyewitnesses said that the Israeli occupation forces heavily fired tear gas canisters and rubber-coated metal bullets at the unarmed protesters.

Meanwhile dozens of Palestinian activists planted new olive trees in Jericho and near the Apartheid Wall north of Jerusalem sending a message on Land Day that the Palestinians will never give up their lands.
