Two prisoners shot by Negev jailers in critical condition

The Palestinian Prisoner Center for Studies affirmed that the two prisoners who stabbed an officer and a jailer in the Negev jail on Sunday evening suffered serious injuries after they were directly shot.

According to the Center the prisoners are 37-year-old Islam Weshahi from al-Shuhada village in Jenin and 30-year-old Uday Salem from ash-Shawawrah village in Bethlehem.

Both of them are undergoing surgeries and treatment at Soroka Hospital in Beersheba.

The Center said that Weshahi and Salem had to stab the jailers to defend themselves and their fellow prisoners after they were assaulted provoked and insulted.
