The Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) on Friday said that tension has escalated in Ramon jail following confrontations between the Palestinian detainees in section 1 and the Israel Prison Service.
The PPS said that the prisoners in other sections protested the arbitrary measures imposed on section 1 since last Tuesday.
The Israel Prison Service on Tuesday transferred 90 Palestinian detainees from section 7 to section 1 where cellphone jammers were installed.
The prisoners protested the installation of the cancer-causing devices by igniting fire in several prison rooms.
The PPS expressed its concern over the inhumane treatment the Palestinian prisoners in Negev and Ramon jail are subjected to.
