The Palestinian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Rola Ma’ay’a has announced that more than three million tourists visited the Palestinian territories in 2018.
Ma’ay’a told Wafa that according to data by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics 3049753 tourists visited Palestine in 2018.
Ma’ay’a added that the number mirrors the great efforts made by the Ministry and the private tourism sector during the year.
She noted that the Ministry is looking forward to creating a more attractive atmosphere for tourism especially that the number of tourists is expected to increase in 2019.
The Palestinian minister called for more investment in tourism which day by day proves that it is one of the most promising sectors in the Palestinian territories.
“We have been able to do unique things during the past period” she said. “Our message was translated in the slogan “survival and existence”. We have shown the world that the Palestinian people have existed on their land for thousands of years and that they will stay.”
