Member of Hamas’s political bureau Mousa Abu Marzouk has welcomed the South African parliament’s adoption of a resolution to downgrade the country’s embassy in Israel (1948 occupied Palestine) in light of its ongoing crimes against the Palestinians.
“Such resolution reflects the nobility of this African country which has long suffered from the apartheid regime and whose citizens are considered the world’s most knowledgeable and aware people on the reality of the Palestinian people’s suffering under the sway of the Zionist apartheid regime” Abu Marzouk said in press remarks on Wednesday.
The Hamas official expressed the Movement’s thanks to South Africa’s parliament government and political parties for their supportive positions towards the Palestinian cause.
“This vote constitutes a motivation for further steps on the road to severing all relations with the occupation state which persists in its crimes against the Palestinian people” he said.
