Palestinian factions have called on the Palestinian citizens in the West Bank and Gaza Strip to go on a general strike to mourn the death of Palestinian prisoner Nasser Abu Hamid and to condemn the Israeli crime of medical neglect practiced against him.
In a press statement on Tuesday the Factional Coordination Committee in Nablus called on Palestinian citizens to go on a general strike in support of the Palestinian prisoners and to condemn the continued Israeli policy of medical neglect practiced against the sick Palestinian prisoners.
For its part the Palestinian National and Islamic Forces in the West Bank city of Jenin called on the Palestinian masses to take to the streets in solidarity with the family of martyr Abu Hamid.
In a related development the Mayor of Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip Iyad Al-Maghari told Quds Press that the municipal council unanimously decided to erect a memorial to the memory of martyr Abu Hamid.
Moreover the Palestinian resistance factions affirmed that the new Israeli crime against prisoner Abu Hamid will not go unpunished calling on the Palestinian Authority to act urgently and prosecute the Israeli leaders at international criminal courts for their crimes against the Palestinian prisoners.
Earlier in the morning Palestinian cancer-stricken prisoner Nasser Abu Hamid who had been subjected the Israeli policy of medical neglect died after entering a deep coma in Assaf Harofeh Hospital.
