Cancer-stricken prisoner Nasser Abu Hamid loses memory

Wa’ed Prisoner Society has said that terminally ill prisoner Nasser Abu Hamid has almost completely lost his memory after cancer cells spread to and affected his brain.

According to the society his doctors decided to provide Abu Hamid with double doses of strong anesthetics which adversely affected his body and made him enter in continuous sleep bouts that sometimes reach 20 hours.

The society said that Abu Hamid relies on an oxygen cylinder to breathe receives intravenous feeding and cannot move completely.

The health condition of Abu Hamid has entered a very critical stage recently and keeps worsening every day.

Abu Hamid who has been battling death for several months in the Ramla jail infirmary was taken to a civilian hospital a few days ago following a sharp rise in his body temperature and a drop in his heart rate (bradycardia).
