The Hamas Movement has congratulated the Moroccan people on their national team’s success in reaching the semi-finals of the World Cup in Qatar after its historic 1-0 victory over Portugal on Saturday.
“We congratulate Morocco on this great sporting achievement after its national team qualified for the semi-finals of the World Cup in Qatar” Hamas spokesman Hazem Qasem said in a statement on Sunday.
“This is a historic Arab sports achievement” the spokesman added.
He also expressed the Movement’s best wishes to the Moroccan team in its coming matches.
The Atlas Lions (Moroccan team) beat Portugal 1-0 on Saturday to make history and will now face defending champions France on Wednesday.
