The Palestinian prisoners in Ofer jail started taking protest steps on Thursday to demand an end to arbitrary measures pursued against them by the Israeli prison service (IPS).
According to the Palestinian Commission of Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs 900 prisoners in Ofer jail refused to take meals served to them by the prison administration.
The prisoners who work in the prison’s kitchen also refused to leave their cells as part of the protest steps.
The prisoners started such steps after the IPS increased the number of prisoners in Ofer cells and started to delay family visits to the jail.
