Hamas official Hisham Qasem appreciated the cancellation of a scheduled football match by the Uruguay football team in Israel following boycott pressure.
In a press statement issued Friday Qasem emphasized that this step enhances the boycott efforts and encourages other football clubs and national teams to do the same.
The Hamas official also explained that the boycott efforts are aimed to protest the Israeli occupation’s crimes against the Palestinian people.
