Barhoum: Al-Aqsa events prove Israeli racism

Monday 26-September-2022

Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said in a statement issued Monday that today’s events in al-Aqsa Mosque prove the Israeli extremism and racism in dealing with the Palestinian people.

The Israeli incursions and violations against al-Aqsa reflect the crime and injustice which our Palestinian people are subjected to he said.

“Thanks to our people’s resistance and steadfastness these incursions were turned into a continuous state of depletion to the Israeli occupation” he added.

Barhoum called on Palestinians from Occupied Jerusalem the West Bank and the 1948 occupied territories to mobilize in defense of the holy shrine.

He further pointed out that the Arab and Islamic nations are required to support the Palestinians in Occupied Jerusalem and al-Aqsa Mosque.

Since the early morning hours Israeli police forces were deployed in large numbers at the entrances to al-Aqsa preventing Palestinian worshipers’ access and paving the way for hundreds of Jewish settlers under the pretext of celebrating the so-called Hebrew New Year.

Palestinian worshipers were violently attacked and pushed back including women. Some of them were besieged at the tribal prayer hall amid heavy firing of teargas and sound bombs.

In recent days the Israeli police issued orders banning a number of Islamic Awqaf employees and Muslim worshipers from entering the Aqsa Mosque for different periods and allowed scores of settlers to desecrate it under the pretext of celebrating the Jewish holidays.
