The Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) reported on Wednesday that 30 Palestinian prisoners plan to start a hunger strike on the 25th of September 2022 in protest at their continued administrative detention.
In a press statement the prisoners underlined that the hunger strike is set to start in four days declaring their readiness to fight in a decisive battle against the illegal Israeli policy of administrative detention.
The prisoners affirmed that they suffer from repressive measures in Israeli prisons including racial discrimination in addition to the policy of medical negligence.
They called on the Palestinian people to confront the Israeli policy of administrative detention along with the settlement expansion and land confiscation stressing the importance of national unity in supporting Palestinian prisoners while confronting the Israeli policy of administrative detention.
Last January Palestinian administrative detainees started a comprehensive boycott against the Israeli judicial procedures related to their detention orders.
Administrative detention which is a violation of the international law is incarceration without trial or charge and is widely used by Israel against the Palestinians solely at the allegation that a person plans to commit a future offense.
