Israel’s district planning and building committee in Occupied Jerusalem announced on Saturday its approval of a new plan to build a national park on annexed lands near Pisgat Zeev settlement northeast of the holy city.
Settler institutions said they had obtained written approval signed by Shira Talmai-Babai head of the district committee for the plan to build an urban natural park stretching over an area of about 700 dunums of land around the Nahal Zimri nature trail in Jerusalem.
The endorsement of this plan gave the green light for a previous decision to appropriate about 1170 dunums of land belonging to the towns of Shuafat Beit Hanina and Anata and it will eliminate any available opportunity for the urban growth of the Jerusalemites.
