Hunger-striking brothers Ahmed and Idhal Mousa entered on Saturday day 27 of the hunger strike they staged in protest at their administrative detention.
The two hunger strikers are held administratively in Ofer jail.
Ahmed had gone on hunger strike for 31 days in 2019 to protest a similar detention measure during which he suffered a stroke that affected his feet and hands. Before that he underwent open-heart surgery.
Ahmed who suffers now from health issues in his heart and kidneys was transferred last Thursday to Kaplan Hospital in 1948 occupied Palestine where he underwent medical tests before he was taken back to the Ramla prison infirmary.
The brothers were kidnaped by the Israeli occupation forces on August 7 2022 and soon later an Israeli military court approved the administrative detention of Ahmed for four months and Idhal for three months.
Out of the approximately 4550 Palestinian prisoners currently held by Israel about 670 are being held as administrative detainees a number that has increased since March as Israel stepped up its raids in the occupied West Bank.
Administrative detention is a tool used by the Israeli occupation authority in order to jail Palestinians for several months without charge or trial and extend their imprisonment indefinitely.
