Wednesday 10-August-2022

A Palestinian young artist has been identified as among those killed during the Israeli three-day aggression on the Gaza Strip.

The 22-year-old Diana Al-Amour from Khan Younis governorate was killed during an Israeli artillery targeting her family house in the southern Gaza Strip.

Her house located near the border fence was targeted without any prior notice.

Dreams in the Rubble

Speaking to the PIC reporter her uncle Fadl al-Amour said that Diana was a young-committed woman who devoted her life in good deeds.

However she was targeted without any reason through an Israeli artillery shell near her family house in the al-Fukhari area her uncle added.

Neither Diana nor any of her family member was involved in any military action he stressed.

He further called on international and human rights institutions to open an investigation into her death.

Diana has completed 4 years at Al-Aqsa University in the Department of Fine Arts. She was dreaming to continue in art career but Israel has put an end to her dream.

Al-Amour condemned the Israeli deliberate targeting of residential areas in the Gaza Strip without any mercy.

“Israel claims that it does not target civilians and that it only targets military sites. However it targeted a civilian home par excellence that has no link to military action.”

The targeted house was built by UNRWA due to the family’s difficult conditions he pointed out.

Israel has launched a three-day aggression on the Gaza Strip starting last Friday evening leaving 47 Palestinian citizens killed and 360 others wounded in addition to vast material damage.

16 Palestinian children and four women were among the reported victims.

On Sunday evening a ceasefire came into effect in the besieged enclave at 23:30 local time (20:30 GMT) after Egyptian mediation.

Gaza Civil Defense affirmed that more than 1675 housing units were damaged during the three-day aggression of which 89 were completely destroyed.
