Saturday 2-July-2022

Hamas Movement welcomed in a statement issued Friday evening the report issued by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) which sheds light on the crime of the Israeli unjust siege imposed on the Gaza Strip for more than fifteen years and calls for lifting it immediately.

This report is a new UN document added to the series of documents that monitor the Zionist occupation crimes and violations the statement reads.

The report “requires the international community to stand by its responsibilities towards the injustice inflicted on our Palestinian people work to put an end to this occupation and its crimes and take practical steps to stop the aggression and lift the ongoing siege on the Gaza Strip.”

Earlier Thursday OCHA issued a report stressing that “the blockade on Gaza should be fully lifted in line with UN Security Council Resolution 1860.”

The report further considered the situation in the Gaza Strip as “catastrophic” after 15 years of Israeli siege saying that “long-standing access restrictions imposed by the Israeli authorities have undermined Gaza’s economy resulting in high unemployment food insecurity and aid dependency.”
