Palestinian cancer-stricken prisoner Nasser Abu Hamid is still in serious health condition and using an oxygen cylinder to breathe according to the Palestinian Commission of Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs on Tuesday.
Lawyer of the Commission Kareem Ajwa affirmed that prisoner Abu Hamid was confined to a wheelchair and using an oxygen cylinder when he visited him recently in the Ramla prison infirmary.
According to lawyer Ajwa the prisoner was unable to walk breathe and talk during the visit and lost about 20 kilos of his weight as a result of his health suffering.
Recently Abu Hamid was taken twice to Assaf Harofeh Hospital after he received the first course of chemotherapy and consequently suffered from serious health complications.
A few months ago the prisoner also suffered from a life-threatening health problem in his lungs but the Israeli prison service delayed his transfer to the hospital and medically neglected his issue before deciding to take him to the hospital.
