Four Palestinians were injured by Israeli occupation forces (IOF) gunfire on Saturday near the entrance of the West Bank village of Azzun.
Local sources reported that scores of Palestinian youths confronted the IOF soldiers and hurled stones at them in response to the IOF’s abusive practices against the people of Azzun village.
Palestinian civilians in Azzun village are repeatedly subjected to harassments by IOF-protected Israeli settlers who seize lands in the village establish settlements on them and restrict access of Palestinians to their land. The settlers have seized half of the Azzun village land which is estimated at 25000 dunums.
The illegal settlements of Karni Shomron Ma’aleh Shomron and Ginot Shomron are built on the lands of Azzun and neighboring villages.
Azzun is located to the east of the West Bank city of Qalqilya extending to the Azzun Forest which Israelis call “Ra’anana.”
