Tens of thousands of Palestinian worshipers performed the last Friday prayer of Ramadan at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem.
Islamic Waqf Department announced that more than 160000 Palestinians managed to attend Friday prayer at Al-Aqsa despite the Israeli tight restrictions.
Since morning hours thousands of West Bankers flocked to Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Residents of cities such as Bethlehem and Ramallah in the occupied West Bank lined up at Israeli checkpoints to visit Al-Aqsa. Hundreds of them however were denied access to Occupied Jerusalem.
Meanwhile Israeli police forces were deployed in large numbers throughout the holy city restricting Palestinians’ movement.
Earlier Friday dozens of Palestinians were injured while others were arrested after Israeli police forces violently stormed al-Aqsa Mosque and attacked worshipers on Friday morning.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society in Jerusalem affirmed that 42 injuries were reported among the worshipers 22 of them were transferred to Al-Makassed Hospital.
