Head of Hamas political bureau Ismail Haneyya phoned on Tuesday the Nigerian Minister of Foreign Affairs Geoffrey Onyeama and discussed the serious situation in Occupied Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque due to the Israeli brutal attacks on unarmed worshippers to pave the way for Israeli settlers to perform the alleged slaughter in the holy site.
Haneyya expressed his gratitude to the Nigerian state for its efforts in suspending the African Union’s decision to grant Israel observer status in the AU according to the official website of Hamas.
“Israel’s crimes against Palestinians violate international law and prove that it does not deserve observer status” the Nigerian FM said adding that the Palestinian people must regain their human rights including the right of refugees to return to their homes.
Algeria South Africa and Nigeria have sought to suspend the AU Commission Chairperson’s decision to grant Israel observer status in the AU.
