Israeli police briefly detain Jerusalemite activist

Israeli police forces arrested Jerusalemite activist Mohammed Abu al-Hummus from the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of Occupied Jerusalem on Thursday for allegedly threatening the Knesset member Itamar Ben Gvir.

Eyewitnesses said the occupation police forces detained Abu al-Hummus in Sheikh Jarrah and took him to an investigation center before releasing him later.

The Hebrew media reported that Israeli police arrested activist Abu al-Hummus for allegedly threatening to shoot Ben Gvir in the head.

Earlier Thursday the occupation police arrested two young men from the town of Tor in eastern Jerusalem for publishing statements on social media platforms praising the Palestinians who carried out attacks on Israelis.

The Israeli police launched a large-scale campaign of arrests in Occupied Jerusalem at dawn Thursday that rounded up 17 Jerusalemites including a woman.
