The Hamas Movement has applauded the Palestinian media for its role in resisting the Israeli occupation exposing its crimes and preserving the national memory.
“The Palestinian journalists have proven the strength of their determination on the ground exposed the occupation’s crimes in all languages documented its terrorism wrote about the Palestinian steadfastness and raised the global awareness about the Palestinian cause” Hamas said in a statement on Friday.
“We believe in the power of word and image as much as we believe in the power of guns and missiles that are used against the Israeli occupation” the Movement added on the occasion of the “Day of Loyalty to Palestinian Journalists” which is marked on December 31.
It affirmed that dozens of journalists were martyred wounded or jailed as they were conveying the truth and showing their sense of belonging to their land and people.
Hamas urged international media and press institutions and unions to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian journalists and protect them against Israeli violations.
