A Palestinian was shot and killed by Israeli gunfire as armed clashes broke out late Sunday night in Nablus in the occupied West Bank.
Ahmad Jibril Director of the Palestinian Red Crescent’s (PRC) Emergency and Ambulance Department in Nablus said that Jameel al-Kayyal 31 was killed after Israeli soldiers shot him in the head adding that two others were injured when an Israeli military vehicle run them over.
The armed clashes erupted when Israeli occupation forces (IOF) stormed in large numbers Ras al-Ain area in the West Bank city of Nablus to arrest a young man.
Local sources said that a general strike will be observed in Nablus on Monday in mourning for the martyr Kayyal.
The IOF often carries out detention raids against Palestinians in the West Bank and Jerusalem claiming to arrest wanted Palestinians.
Israel currently holds 4650 Palestinians including 34 women 160 children and 500 administrative detainees in its jails.
