A Palestinian youth was killed by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in Beita town to the south of Nablus on Friday night.
The Palestinian ministry of health reported that the young man Jamil Abu Ayyash was hit with an IOF live bullet in the head during confrontations in Mount Sobeih in Beita town. He was taken to hospital in a very serious condition and he was later pronounced dead it added.
The IOF sabotaged all roads leading to Mount Sobeih and Palestinian ambulance vehicles faced difficulty in reaching the area which witnessed violent clashes between the IOF soldiers and young men.
The IOF fired rubber-coated and live bullets along with teargas canisters to disperse the young men locals said adding that the clashes erupted following the Friday prayer that was held on Palestinian citizens’ land near the mountain.
Sheikh Abdul Ghani Duweikat delivered the Friday Khutba (sermon) calling on the townspeople to remain steadfast and never allow any Israeli presence on Mount Sobeih.
People of Beita town have been organizing daily and weekly protest events aimed at removing the Jewish settlement outpost Evyatar from Mount Sobeih.
