Health of hunger striker Abu Hawash reaches critical stage

Thursday 2-December-2021

The family of Palestinian prisoner Hisham Abu Hawash has warned that its son may die at any moment as a result of his prolonged hunger strike calling for urgent action to save his life before it is too late.

On Wednesday the Israeli military court in Ofer jail held a hearing to look into the health report of hunger striker Abu Hawash but it adjourned it at the pretext that it did not obtain the report it had asked for 10 days ago from the Israeli prison service.

Abu Hawash who attended the hearing through video conferencing looked emaciated suffering from severe pains and and unable to speak or move according to his family.

About two days ago he was transferred to Kaplan Hospital and later to Assaf Harofeh but he refused to deal with any doctor so his jailers took him back to the Ramla jail’s infirmary.

The prisoner started his hunger strike 107 days ago in protest at his administrative detention with no trial or indictment.
