The Palestine Center for Prisoners’ Studies warned on Tuesday that the lives of Palestinian hunger strikers in Israeli jails are in danger as the Israeli prison services (IPS) is still not responding to their demands.
The Center held IPS responsible for the prisoners’ lives. The Center’s manager Riyad al-Ashqar called on the human rights organizations and international institutions to intervene to save the prisoners’ lives.
Six Palestinian prisoners have been on open-ended hunger strike for weeks in protest at their detention administratively with no indictments or trials. Four of them suffer serious health conditions and they are exposed to death anytime in the Ramle prison clinic.
The hunger-striking administrative detainees are Kayed al-Fasfous Miqdad al-Qawasmeh Alaa al-Araj Hisham Abu Hawash Rayek Bisharat and Shadi Abu Aker. They have been on hunger strike for 69 62 44 36 31 and 28 days respectively.
