Israeli Prison Service (IPS) guards stormed on Friday Palestinian prisoners’ rooms in Ashkelon jail and violently searched two rooms.
Palestinian prisoner society stated that IPS imposed more punitive measures on the Palestinian prisoners in the jail most of them suffer from various illnesses.
The prisoner Murad Abu Alrob started a hunger strike protesting his solitary confinement. He was transferred to an isolation cell following a confrontation with IPS against the punitive measures.
Tensions still looms in the Israeli prisons especially after IPS tried to prevent Friday prayer.
