Settlers seize mountain in Jenin bulldoze land in Ni’lin

Dozens of Jewish settlers on Monday confiscated the Abu al-Shawareb mountain near Kafr Ra’i village southwest of Jenin while others bulldozed land to build a road north of Ni’lin.

Local sources reported that the residents of Kafr Ra’i town were shocked by the settlers’ seizure of Abu al-Shawareb Mountain which spreads over an area of about one hundred dunums.

It pointed out that the settlers were stationed on the top of the mountain between Kafr Rai built a road that leads to it burned the weeds in the place set up a fence around it and began moving their properties from the nearby Dotan settlement.

The settlers claimed that the mountain is considered state property and that it had no owners. The owners of the land showed their ownership documents to prove their entitlement to the land and removed the fence which the settlers built.

In another development eyewitnesses said that a group of Israeli settlers used bulldozers to construct a road in the Mount Al-Alam area north of Ni’lin after storming the area.

Settlers target the lands of Mount Al-Alam in a continuous effort to confiscate it as they had built roads expelled farmers burnt mountain lands uprooted seedlings and sabotaged irrigation water lines.
