The Israeli occupation authority on Monday evening released Palestinian astrophysicist and professor Emad al-Barghouthi after he spent 11 months in administrative detention with no indictment.
Israeli forces kidnaped professor Barghouthi on July 16 2020 at the checkpoint of Anata town in the northeast of Jerusalem.
Later on September 3 2020 an Israeli military court ordered his detention administratively at the request of the intelligence apparatus.
He had been detained with no indictments or trials several times before in 2014 2015 and 2016.
Barghouthi 59 is a professor of theoretical space plasma physics at al-Quds University and has worked for some time at NASA in the United States. His scientific work is widely published internationally in academic journals.
